Folio (385x260 mm.). 1-17, (1 blank) pp. 25 engraved plates (all, minor foxing, plate XXIV-XXV with traces of red ink, text partly foxed).

The first 25 plates from Diderot´s "Encyclopédie" showing the "Characteres and Alphabets of Dead and Living Languages", for example Arabic, Ethiopian, Coptic, Armenian, Georgian, Tamil, Japanese, Chinese.
The second work is on calligraphy.
